GOG

What is GOG

GOG Ltd is a subsidiary of CD Projekt. The main office of CD Projekt is located in the capital of Poland, in the city of Warsaw. GOG's initial focus was on producing "traditional" DRM-free Windows games. Later versions of games began to support other operating systems. All service objects can be downloaded online, and they will not be protected.

Cost of games

At first, the pricing policy was planned to be based on two costs for games: 1st category for $5, the second - $10. But when the catalog of computer games was replenished with new products and it became possible to regulate prices depending on the region, the list of price categories expanded significantly. An important nuance is the presence of permanent loyalty programs for users, be it discounts on individual games, or on entire collections dedicated to various holidays and weekends.

Service customers do not need to download special software to be able to download or update products. But there is a preinstalled download manager. Its purpose is to automate the download process and control the correctness of the downloaded files. For all downloaded products, there is the possibility of storage on various types of media. You can also re-download the file an unlimited number of times.

Games that are downloaded from GOG.com are not tied to a personal user profile, however, from a legal point of view, they are covered by the user agreement.

For the normal functioning of games on new operating systems systems, some computer games are updated and further provided with emulation programs open for use, for example: DOSBox. In some cases, updates that were not developed by the program creators (Outcast) are immediately installed in the games.

In addition to the downloaded game, the client of the service receives bonus products. As a rule, such materials include music from the game, instructions, avatars.

GOG.com provides customer support in several languages. If you purchase a non-working product, there is a one-month money-back guarantee. The service provides for a refund on subsequent purchases on GOG.com if the price in the region of purchase is higher than in the United States. In such cases, the difference between the local price and the US price is compensated.
